RBC Queen’s Quay & Lower Jarvis

Trevor, how did you find your way to the Queens Quay neighbourhood?

I have been with RBC for the last 13 years, and the last 3 in the Toronto Downtown Market in the branch leadership Team. My previous branch assignment was at our University & Dundas location where our focus was on our student and healthcare client segments. I transitioned to our Sugar Beach location after my predecessor, Robert Blanchard moved on to a new role in the organization. Over the last three years the team’s focus was building their client base in the Queens Quay neighbourhood and build relationships with community members and offer complimentary advice events based around financial literacy. My focus will be to continue this work in our community in addition to deepening the relationships of our client base and anchor clients with a dedicated advisor that is best fit for their everyday needs and long term financial goals.

How has RBC been serving new customers during the pandemic restrictions?

Before the pandemic RBC was building our digital capabilities to become a Digitally Enabled relationship bank. This 5 year plan quickly turned into a 3 month plan once the pandemic hit in March 2020 and we increased our capabilities to meet with our clients virtually and conduct business without a need to visit a branch. Our branch staff have remained on-site to assist clients with essential services that cannot be completed at the branch; however, a majority of our work force remains working from home at this time.

What do you tell people about the waterfront after working here?

RBC has a strong corporate culture of giving back to our communities and build meaningful relationships. I strongly feel that we have a gap in our educational system with Financial Literacy and we can use the strength of our organization to educate our communities on how to properly budget, saving and plan your financial goals. Whether you’re a client or not, we are always happy to offer our compliancy services and visit any business or workplace for an advice event on financial literacy.

What’s your favourite place to eat and relax nearby?

After work on a Friday I enjoy visiting Real Sports over by the Scotiabank Arena for a beer and their delicious  poutine! Likewise, visiting the Toronto Islands has always been a summer staple of mine since I was a young boy.
